Headaches are one of the most common pain-related health problems in both adults and young children. You may have a headache in conjunction with another minor health problem such as a fever, sore throat, cold, flu and quite often with a sinus infection. At one time or another, almost everyone has had a headache. Some headaches are only moderately painful, while others are severe and disabling. No matter what kind of headache you have, you'd rather be without it

Type of Headaches:
The most common types of headaches usually ar not serious but quite painful as they can occur frequently:

Tension Headaches are most common type of headache and are often caused by stress and emotional strain.  Most adults have tension headaches  from time to time.

Cluster Headaches involves a stabbing pain  on one side of the head - are relatively rare, affecting less tha 1 percent of the people.  Eighty-five percent of those avvected by cluster headaches are men.  Cluster headaches are much less common than migraines, bu the pain is considerably worse.

Migraines Headaces affect more than 28 million americans, three time more women than men.   Although any head pain can be miserable,  Migraines headaches can be disabling.  In about 15 percent of cases, the painful headaches are preceded by a senory warning sigh s(aura), such as flashes of light, blind sponts or tingling in you arm or leg.  Miraines are also accompanied byother symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting and extreme sensivity to sound.  Migraine pain cn be excruciating and may incapacitabe you for hour or even days.

Location of heaches:  Different types of headaches cause different types of pain.  The pain of tension-type is usually dull, dqueezing pain that may involve the forehead, scalp, back of the neck adn both sides of the head.  The majority of migraine heaches occur on one side of the head, but 40 percent of migraine sufferers feel pain on both sides of the head.  Cluster heaches usually occur on side of the head, and some describe the pain as a stabbing sensation in the eye.

Results and expectation from Advanced Massage Therapy Center:  Headaches and migraines are  ususally the results of muscular pain referrals and vetebra not in alignment with the cranium.  With the initial therapy evaluation should determine if muscle strain, posture misalignment, diet or daily acitivities maybe causing  the headaches.  Craniosacral therapy, a gentle movement of tissue is the most effective in headache pain releif.  The next most effective is Neuromuscular therapy, because of all of the tight muscles which can refer pain to the head area. Pain should subside on the first visit.  However maintenance therapy sessions should be considered to minimize reaccurance of high pain incidents.  Advanced Massage Therapy  recommended therapies are:  CranioSacral and NeuroMuscular therapies.
